Life as you know it

Over the past few months my life has gone from lazy random days where I would shuffle from home to work and college and back to constant days of working late during the week, organizing event’s for both work and my friends and then as soon as the weekend arrives disappearing with friends going out to parties and movies and what not getting back home just before midnight Sunday.

Buy through all this I can’t help but feel worried about the inevitable fact that all of this will change, my friends will migrate abroad and I’ll still be here, my brother will go to hotel school and I’ll still be here, what seems normal to me today might seem a distant memory soon and for some reason or the other I don’t like it one bit >_<

anyways moving away from the delusional ranting here is a song that I just wanted to put out there =)

Thailand

Well while most of my friends and family went out of Colombo to Hikka and Kandy for the long weekend, I FINALLY got to go on my birthday trip to Bangkok with my mum bro and aunt. we were supposed to go for my birthday in April but hey better late than never right ;-)

I’m not going to be writing up a word for word description of what we did there but here are some of the things that really stood out about the place to me.

1) It’s not a giant brothel. just thought I’d get that one out of the way first. ;-)

2) The shopping is amazing and you can find almost anything your looking for there but to really experience the place and get all those stories you would like to tell your friends is usually just get into some shorts and a t-shirt and troll the street markets.

it is somewhat like going for a day trip to petta if you need a rough idea of what it’s like on the streets all along the city. the markets stretch for as far as the eye can see and are always buzzing (despite the news telling us it’s like a warzone)

3) The best food is always found on the streets not in a hotel. While we were there we went to all the street food shops we could find and ate everything from squid to some kind of noodle kottu wrapped inside a thin egg omelet. while some of the places were not the cleanest the food was by far the best.

4) After a long day of roaming the streets and shopping the best thing you can do in the night before going out again is getting a Thai Foot Massage ;-)

5) Using public transport in the city like it’s sky train and the river boat service are an awesome way to see all the different parts of the city fast and decide which you want to see close up.

and yeah that’s just some of my thoughts on the place, now I’m going to go back to unpacking the 6 bags of stuff we brought back from the place =P

until next time

The Darkness and The Light

Well it dawned on me a few days back while I was at work that I had not posted anything on this blog for quite a while now. I’ve been busy as hell with work, college, and my just recently concluded 18th Birthday =P.

One of my friends told me while I was reading other blogs with her that I should start writing on this again and it took me this long because I could not think of anything to say. During my last class at college however I came up with these verses that I thought could turn into a pretty cool track so I decided to put them up here. Now these aren’t very professional or great by any stretch of the definition but I like em so here they are =)

*The light that blinds us when we cry

the light that binds us when we sigh

the darkness that comes will free us all

the darkness that is now inside us all

the pain that keeps you back from your dreams

the pain behind your hallowed screams

the darkness will bring your pain to task

the darkness wouldn't even have you ask

the friends who stab you in the back

the friends that only hold you back

the darkness will keep them imprisoned in fear

the darkness will make them disappear

the darkness now has set you free

the darkness that came from inside of me

the price you pay though may be great

for the darkness now controls your fate.

hehe so there it is my first post in a while =P , will get back to some other stuff I have brewing in my head later on hopefully sooner rather than later. see ya people \\m//

Randomness

Stuck at home knowing your friends from you old school are on there way down south on the two day trip that you had been looking forward to all your school life only to leave school 5 months before it, is a really fucked up position to be in.

But such is the way of the world not a lot one can do to change it so might as well learn to live with it. and on that subject this song helps quite a bit ^_^

Juke Box Hero

Today at work while I was randomly looking for something to listen to while writing a few emails, I was going through my iTunes and I found my old Foreigner collection.

A long long time ago I used to be nothing more than a very very anti social short fat kid who would listen to nothing other than songs like Witchdoctor by the Cartoons and Dancing Queen by ABBA =P, But then one day as I was going through my dad’s massive collection of cd’s I came across his Foreigner Greatest Hits cd ;-) so me being in the mood for something different to listen to and having no one home but my brother and the servants decided to listen to this cd that i had managed to find.

So I put the thing in the player and I still remember how from the very first chord i heard when the thing started playing my hairs stood on end and it sent shockwaves down my spine. I spent the rest of the day listening to that one song over and over again at max volume and needless to say, I was never the same again xD

So today just for the sake of it I was like why not might as well give it another listen after what must be more that 4 years and DAMN even today from the very first chord it sent shivers down my spine and all my hairs stand on end xD truly this is on of my timeless favorites. I could not find a decent You Tube link to it so here are the lyrics to my first fav rock track JUKE BOX HERO xD

Standing in the rain, with his head hung low
Couldn’t get a ticket, it was a sold out show
Heard the roar of the crowd, he could picture the scene
Put his ear to the wall, then like a distant scream
He heard one guitar, just blew him away
He saw stars in his eyes, and the very next day
Bought a beat up six string in a secondhand store
Didn’t know how to play it, but he knew for sure
That one guitar, felt good in his hands
Didnt take long, to understand
Just one guitar, slung way down low
Was one way ticket, only one way to go
So he started rockin
Aint never gonn'a stop
Gotta keep on rockin
Someday he’s gonna make it to the top
And be a juke box hero, got stars in his eyes
He’s a juke box hero
He took one guitar, juke box hero, stars in his eyes
Juke box hero, hell come alive tonight
In a town without a name, in a heavy downpour
Thought he passed his own shadow, by the backstage door
Like a trip through the past, to that day in the rain
And that one guitar made his whole life change
Now he needs to keep rockin
He just cant stop
Gotta keep on rockin
That boy has got to stay on top
And be a juke box hero, got stars in his eyes
He’s a juke box hero, got stars in his eyes
Yeah, juke box hero, got stars in his eyes
With that one guitar hell come alive
Come alive tonight
Yeah, he’s gotta keep rockin
He just cant stop
Gotta keep on rockin
That boy has got to stay on top
And be a juke box hero, got stars in his eyes
He’s a juke box hero, got stars in his eyes
Just one guitar, put stars in his eyes
He’s just a juke box hero, aah aah aah
Juke box hero, juke box hero, he’s got stars in his eyes
Stars in his eyes

In These Darkened Days

well Ive been busy as hell over the last few weeks after my mum got me to start working and with all the college work and stuff but sometime during the last few weeks due to provocation by deathshunt we managed to write a song =D

Now this is very rough work and we threw it together in just a few hours and every time we meet up it changes a bit but this is what it looks like so far =)

In These Darkened Days

In these darkened days of faithless misery
I hear voices calling for me
They drag me down this broken road
Where it goes nobody knows

All I wanted was to see her smile
But she left me alone and in denial
Now take all the years you gave me and take all these tears you made me cry
Take back this pain you caused me and just leave me to die

The last thing I remember was watching her leave
And as she did she took all I had in me
Why she left I would never know
Where she is now nobody knows

All I wanted was to see her smile
But she left me alone and in denial
Now take all the years you gave me and take all these tears you made me cry
Take back this pain you caused me and leave me to die

And now as the life fades from me
And all the memories fade to black
She stands beside me now
Trying to bring me back
But now it’s too late
And she stands alone
Where I am now nobody knows

So now take all these years you gave me
And take back these tears you made me cry
Take back this pain you caused me and leave me to die
